Baan Hin, translating to The Rock House, is built around a natural landscape of huge stone boulders, which are seamlessly integrated into the design of the property. Located on a hillside in Choeng Mon, Baan Hin overlooks spectacular sea views along the east coast, including the nearby island of Koh Matlang. A unique blend of contemporary Thai style, ultra-modern furnishing, and natural elements results in a design that oozes sex-appeal. Large traditional Thai wooden doors open onto a cool, shaded entrance hall with vibrant water garden, and skylight to the roof terrace above, with a tempting hint of the view beyond.  Sandstone steps and wooden walkways lead past an urn with a cascading water feature, to the two pavilions and various levels that make up Baan Hin. At the centre of the property, the swimming pool is surrounded by wooden decks, and ends with an infinity edge that blends into the sea view. A group of immense boulders tower above the end of the pool, and continue underwater, creating a lake-like effect. Steps lead from the poolside deck to a secluded Jacuzzi on a raised deck, nestled behind the boulders. The pool deck is furnished with 6 sun-loungers and cushions, and includes a BBQ set.

The main living area off the pool is an open-sided pavilion, for casual lounging and al-fresco dining. The living room is surrounded by the pool and deck on 2 sides, and is sunken below the deck level. Furnished with large, deep, and low built-in sofas, and a huge breakfast bar, this shaded area is cooled by ceiling fans and sea breezes. A bathroom and dressing room are located off the back of the living room. A sound-proofed TV den is fitted with a 60” screen with surround sound system, and furnished with chic black sofas.  

Facing the view from the back of the pool, the kitchen-dining room is entered via a flight of stairs, and features a formal dining table, and elegant, stone-floored kitchen with black granite counters, huge dark wooden cabinets and breakfast bar. A concealed entrance leads to a second kitchen with staff living quarters. The staff are always on hand, but unobtrusive, to cater for guests’ every whim.

Baan Hin has 3 large en-suite bedrooms, beautifully finished with designer touches. All of the bedrooms feature king-size beds, built-in wardrobes, private decks, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and mini entertainment systems. The master bedroom suite is set in its own pavilion, with a spectacular tree-top view across the lush jungle canopy. The en-suite bathroom includes a free-standing bath tub overlooking the private deck and garden view, together with grey slate wash basins, and a frosted glass walk-in shower. All of the bedrooms are very private and secluded.

A rooftop deck is surrounded by pebble ponds, and furnished with a large, cushioned L-shaped sofa and a coffee table overlooking the panoramic sea views. A pool table is provided for additional entertainment.
