Baan Tawan Chai
is a relaxed and comfortable villa located on the tranquil south coast
beach of Laem Set. The walled property is comprised of three pavilions
set around a central area, facing great views across the gardens and
swimming pool to the beach and sea beyond.
The focal point of Baan Tawan Chai is the blue-tiled swimming pool at
the centre of the garden, with an integrated Jacuzzi. Small wooden decks
protrude from the sand-wash pool deck, with sun-loungers and parasols.
Adjacent to the pool is an open-sided sala pavilion, furnished with teak
armchairs and a chaise-longue, facing the sea views. Two paths of
stepping stones lead across the open lawn to a gate opening onto the beach.
The air-conditioned main living room is a detached building behind the
pool, which includes a comfortable lounge, dining area and a
fully-equipped kitchen. With vaulted wooden beamed ceilings, and
foldaway glass doors, the living area opens onto the garden. An
al-fresco dining set and outdoor BBQ kitchen are arranged on the
adjacent patio.
On either side of the pool are the sleeping pavilions, each with 2
en-suite double bedrooms with indoor-outdoor bathrooms. To the right of
the pool, at the beach side of the sleeping pavilion, is an
air-conditioned lounge/TV den, with 60" LCD screen, and foldaway glass doors facing the sea.
On the opposite side of the pool, the 2 further bedrooms are a double,
and the master bedroom, which features glass doors opening onto a patio
with outdoor seating, a lounge area, and a larger bathroom that includes
a tub. All of the bedrooms are individually air-conditioned, with
ceiling fans.
The expansive beachfront garden is enclosed by a natural screening of
planted bamboo which provides privacy without compromising the views.
The beach is quiet and secluded, and the location is an ideal getaway,
far from the madding crowds. To the left of the beach is a peninsula of
stunning natural rock formations that further protects the privacy of
the shallow bay.
Baan Tawan Chai Location
On the southern coast of Koh Samui, about 45 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from
Lamai, and 30 minutes from Chaweng. Samui golf club is around 40 minutes drive away.
