The Rock Villa comprises two modern glass buildings, integrated with the beautiful natural environment that includes mature gardens and ancient granite boulders. The minimalist design of the vast, open-plan lofts, with 5 metre high ceilings, marble flooring, and floor to ceiling reflective glass walls, provides an incredible sense of space, while offering full immersion with the spectacular landscape.

The lower 200 square metre beach house includes two floating bed platforms, each perched several metres up on the rocks, with sea views through the facing glass wall. Higher levels of boulders separate the two bedrooms, with a dressing area at floor level between them. Both sleeping platforms are encapsulated in glass, with air-conditioning and light-blocking curtains. Accessed via stainless steel stairs, the single and double bedrooms are compact and functional, and fitted with small personal safety boxes.

In the centre of the lower loft, a large marble platform double daybed and a sofa-bench offer lounging overlooking the pool, sea view, and large wall-mounted smart HDTV. A glass dining table with 8 comfortable armchairs completes the living area. At the far end of the loft, the slate-tiled bathroom with rain showerhead also makes a feature of the soulful boulders, and opens onto a rock garden with sea views.

A private 13.5x3.5 metre infinity-edge swimming pool is located outside the lower loft, facing the sea, and incorporates a submerged boulder at one end. The pool is surrounded by a grass lawn, leading to a large sun terrace, elevated above the quiet beach that overlooks Koh Samui’s famous Hin Ta Hin Yai landmark rock formations. The beach is accessed via a wide stairway, and offers good swimming at higher tidal levels. Lower summer tidal levels offer greater expanses of beach and lower water levels, while high tides during the winter months can completely cover the beach.  The golden sand beach extends for around 10 metres from the property, after which the seabed becomes rocky, so reef shoes or flippers are recommended for swimming or snorkeling. Deeper waters can always be accessed beyond the outlying reef.

Adjacent to the lower beach house is the detached kitchen, from where daily breakfasts are prepared by the staff, which can also cater to additional meals and seafood BBQs. A bar, open-air guest bathroom, loungers, lazy chairs, hammock, and an al-fresco dining table with bench seating, complete the idyllic beachfront setting.

The 220 square metre upper loft is elevated on top of the rocks, with its main floor level with the roof of the lower loft. While the marble floors, glass walls, and towering ceilings prevail, the layout of the upper loft is more complex, with split-levels, and defined areas. An air-conditioned, glass-partitioned bedroom is fitted with a king-size bed, personal safe, desk, and light-blocking curtains, and opens onto a private balcony with sun loungers, overlooking sea and garden views. Next to the double bedroom, a large Jacuzzi is set on a raised marble platform overlooking the sea. Lounge chairs, a suspended basket chair, and a sofa provide stylish seating, and the large flat screen smart HDTV can be viewed from the Jacuzzi or lounge areas.

A glass-fronted, air-conditioned nook bedroom offers two single beds on a platform on top of the boulders. This sleeping area has a low ceiling at 160cm, and is more suitable for children.

A marble staircase leads up through the rocks to the upper gallery, and a kitchenette, with a twin bedroom to the left, and bathroom to the right. The kitchenette includes a fridge-freezer, microwave, sink, and toaster for preparing light snacks. The unusual bathroom features twin sinks, and two adjacent cubicles, each with a shower and toilet.

The air-conditioned twin bedroom doubles as a TV den, and is better suited for children. Two narrow single beds are orientated end to end against the wall, and facing a large flat screen TV. A glass door at the far end of the bedroom opens onto the boulders and views.

The Rock Villa includes complimentary WiFi access throughout, with a router in each loft connected to high-speed fibre-optic cable service. All TVs are connected to cable service, including a wide range of international channels. A commercial washing machine and dryer in the utility room is used by the staff to launder towels and bed linen, and is also available for guests’ personal laundry. The villa is serviced by a team of staff, including a maid and handyman, along with an English-speaking manageress, who is based nearby, available on call, and visits the villa daily.
