Villa Malouna is a fabulous modern beach house, located on the western end of Laem Noi beach, on the scenic northwestern coast of Koh Samui. Facing sunset views over Angthong Marine Park and Koh Phangan, the villa offers an impressive 45 metre frontage onto a secluded white sand beach. Swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and snorkelling are particularly good in the unspoiled lagoon, which includes colourful live coral. Ideally suited for parties with children, Villa Malouna includes a kids’ dorm with 6 bunk beds and 2 pull-out beds, together with a range of toys and games.

At the heart of the property is a 27 metre long infinity-edge lap pool, tiled in elegant Balinese stone, and flanked by a pinewood deck. The pool extends to a shallow section suitable for children, or lounging in the sun. At one end of the pool, a sunken lounge offers ample comfortable built-in sofa seating. An expansive flat lawn extends across the width of the property between the pool and the palm-fringed beach.

The living room, which opens directly onto the pool deck, and faces the sea views, is fitted with ceiling fans, and foldaway glass doors running the width of the building on two sides, allowing the sea breeze to flow through. Furnished with a large custom-made teakwood sofa and coffee table, the living room includes a 55” smart LED Apple TV and entertainment system, with sound system piped throughout the pool area.

The open-plan kitchen-dining room features striking charcoal walls, and a huge wooden dining set, seating 12 in comfort. The kitchen to the rear of the room is separated by an island, with suspended spherical copper lights overhead. Foldaway glass walls open up to the pool deck on two sides, creating a vast indoor-outdoor living area. The sundeck in front of the dining room is slightly raised, and furnished with beanbags and parasols.

The villas 6 en-suite bedrooms are arranged in 3 pairs of adjacent double and twin configurations, each in separate buildings. Each of the double bedrooms is fitted with a King-size teakwood bed, and includes fitted wardrobes, ceiling fan, and air-conditioning. The en-suite bathrooms are finished in charcoal terrazzo, and include walk-in rain-showers and freestanding terrazzo bathtubs. The twin bedrooms again feature custom-made teak beds, (with mattress toppers available to make up a comfortable King). Each of the twin bedrooms includes a pull-out single bed. The twin en-suites are fitted with walk-in rain-showers.

The pair of bedrooms facing the pool deck features private gardens off the bathrooms, as does the second pair of equivalent bedrooms in the garden behind the living room. The third pair of bedrooms is elevated above and behind the kitchen-dining room, with great sea views. All bedrooms are equivalent and similarly appointed. Below these bedrooms, the huge kids’ dormitory includes 6 built-in bunk beds and 2 pull-out beds. The dorm doubles as a playroom, with swings suspended from the ceiling, a blackboard wall, kids’ tables and chairs, and a range of books, games, and toys.

Sun loungers and parasols are available on the beach, together with sea kayaks and paddle-boards. The neighbouring Four Seasons resort is a short paddle away, and a convenient stop for drinks or lunch on the beach.

A staff kitchen in located to the rear of the property, allowing for unobtrusive catering preparations. The resident staff of 4 includes a charming manageress, chef, maid, and handyman.

The villa is located directly on the beach front, around the corner from The Four Seasons, within 10 minutes from Nathon town, about 40 minutes drive from Chaweng to the east, 45 minutes from the airport, with Santiburi Golf and Country club some 15 minutes drive away.

Rates are for the entire property, with discounts for reduced occupancy as follows:
6 bedroom sleeps 12 adults + 6 children.
5 bedroom sleeps 10 adults + 6 children.
4 bedroom sleeps 8 adults + 6 children.

-Rates are exclusive of 10% service and 7% tax.
-Rates are inclusive of continental or Chinese breakfast, chef service, and daily maid service.
-Extra bed charge is $50++ USD per person.
-One airport transfer each way is complimentary, with extra transfers charged at $45+ USD per trip for up to 9 passengers, and subject to 7% tax.
-Minimum stay of 3 nights in low and standard season, 5 nights for Easter and CNY, 7 nights for Xmas or NY, and 10 nights for stays over Xmas and NY.
-Check-in time is 15:00 and check-out time is 10:30, although early arrival and late departure may be requested subject to availability.
-Initial 30% of rental cost is required to secure a booking, with balance due 45 days prior to arrival, except for bookings over Xmas/NY and CNY, when balance is required 60 days prior to arrival.
