During the low tides of the summer months, large expanses of sand provide a huge play area. In the winter months, it is possible to learn kite-surfing on the calm, sheltered sandy lagoon. The beach is also great for long walks, and restaurants serving both Thai and Western cuisine can be reached within a short stroll. Samui Tiger Zoo, Aquarium, and Butterfly Park are also within walking distance.
